Built by hand.
Since 2008.
LP Cabinets is a Melbourne-based joinery practice. We design, build, and install bespoke cabinetry for residential and commercial interiors.
One workshop One team. Start to finish.
We started in 2008 with one bench, one router, and a brief
for a kitchen in Northcote. Seventeen years later, the workshop is bigger but the principle is the same — the people who draw the cabinetry are the people who build it
and install it.

LP Cabinets started as a one-bench operation in a shared warehouse in Northcote. Today the workshop sits on Trade Place in Coburg North, with a four-person team and design office in Collingwood.
We work in walnut, oak, blackbutt, brass, blackened steel, and natural stone. We work in whatever the project calls for — but we work on it ourselves, from the first site visit to the day we hand over the keys.
The studio collaborates with architects and designers across Victoria, builds direct for private clients, and runs cabinetry programmes for selected development builders. Different briefs, same approach.
Three things we won't compromise on.
No statements, no slogans — just the three principles every job runs through, from the first site visit to the final install.
One team, start to finish
The person who measures the site is the person who draws the cabinetry, builds it in the workshop, and installs it on site. Nothing gets handed off. Nothing gets lost in translation.
Material before everything
Stock is selected against drawings before a single panel is cut. Grain direction, colour matching, defect placement — all reviewed at the bench. The material decides what’s possible.
Installed to tolerance
Every job is scribed to a 0.5mm tolerance. We install what we build, in the team that built it. Twelve-month review, lifetime joinery warranty — because we know it’ll be right.
On Trade Place, Coburg North.
The workshop is 320 sqm. A CNC, a beam saw, a wide-belt
sander, an edgebander, a spray booth, and four benches. Material storage on a separate rack, finishing in a temperature-controlled room, an assembly bay for trial fit-ups before despatch.
You’re welcome to visit — by appointment, Monday to Friday. Most clients come once before sign-off and once during the build. It’s worth the trip.
Four people,
one workshop.
A small team by choice. Each person works across design, build, and install — the studio doesn’t operate in silos.

Trusted by builders,

A small selection of the studios, builders, and homeowners we have worked with — what they said when the joinery was installed.
LP drew, made, and installed an entire kitchen, scullery, and library in walnut and brass to a tolerance our site team had not seen before. The cabinets arrived right; the install took two days.
The only joinery partner we use across our development homes. They draw once, repeat well, and ship to the schedule we give them — without compromising the standard residential briefs deserve.
We commissioned LP for our home in Hawthorn — a kitchen, two wardrobes, and a library. Eight months on, the brass has aged the way they said it would, and nothing has shifted by half a millimetre.
